Mass Media
Nowadays more and more people can’t imagine their lives without newspaper, television or radio. The media’s importance is simple: they are our source of information, entertain us. Through Medias we can learn about the world around us, important inventions, and new technologies.
Newspaper: we buy them every morning (recently); different sorts of articles – about economics, politics or social life, sports, editorials (editors give their personal opinion); serious papers (objective) and the tabloids (smaller in size, specializing in articles that are entertaining, gossip). Some are for special group of people (hobbies – photography, gardening; ages or genders - teenagers, women)
Radio – people, who don’t want to buy magazines everyday; the news is read by presenters; we can hear it, when we are cooking, painting a room or working in a garden.
Television – watching television is relaxing, we can asleep

News programmes and weather forecasts
Chat shows – famous people talk about themselves and answer question
Educational programmes
Quiz shows – in which individuals or teams compete by answering questions
Documentaries
Only in TV:
Soap operas – TV series about a group of people and their lives during some years

Films, cartoons
Computers: all in 1 – television, radio, newspaper, book
Young people and their world
It is sure that each generation of young people differs from the one before it. But the basest things and values, which define young generation, are always the same. Young people always need more space; young people have first troubles with love. Young person make up, made up and will make up his mind. It doesn’t depend on the age, what we live in.
Nowadays older people very often say: “When we were young, we were better.” IMHO not young people have changed to worse, but society. When we see, that a person, who can’t tell his opinion, is exploited, it is sure that we are more self-confident. Somebody who is as poor as a church mouse is nobody in our society; we can do almost everything for giving money. Some of us can do something illegal. If alcohol wasn’t being sold us, we wouldn’t drink it. But I think that it isn’t a mistake of young people, but it is a mistake of society.
- Women have very often better job and earn more than men
- Young people live together without marriage for a long time
Communication and its forms
Verbal:
Written – private letters, formal letters, text messages, books, articles
Unwritten – spoken language

Symbols
Written – The ideas are more structured and organized. We can make more mistakes, but if we find them, we can eliminate our errors. It is better form for recording facts and ideas. But it exist hard-read literature, for example poetry. Sometimes we can read it without understanding, what writer wanted to tell.
Unwritten – spoken language, which is spontaneous; usually face to face. Mobile phones. Spoken language can include laughter, long expressive pauses. Speech includes many “ums”, “you know” and other phrases for thought. When something has been said, it cannot be taken back.

Symbols and colours can communicate without any words. In western countries black is the colour of death (in
Nowadays in developed countries are known new forms of communication – not only phones and faxes, but text messages, e-mails. We can surf the Internet for finding information for school, chatting with friends. We can have the best friend, who we have never met but he knows almost everything about us.
We should know where borders are. Chatting with friends or with people from abroad is really good, but nothing is better than talking face to face.
Examples and Ideals
As human beings, we are similar to each other but as individuals we are different from each other. Each is a unique personality with both positive qualities and negative qualities. We are influenced by our family, friends, age, in which we live and society. Nobody is perfect.
Our first role models were our parents. I have though up to know, that they are the best people, I have ever met. They taught us, how to be polite, helpful and friendly. We were taught to greet and respect people, and help those, who may need our help. Some years after… we got know more and more people. We learnt how to get on with people, be tolerant, helpful self-disciplined and hard-working.
